Boa noite!

O nosso querido João, com o entusiasmo da questão, sem dúvida interessante e com a pressa de nos surpreender, ficou-se pelo título: “Full duplex! Tx and Rx on the same frequency - at the same time�!

Não existe... um dia talvez (“Nunca se diga que algo é tecnicamente impossível.�)

 

O artigo http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/08/13/full_duplex_radio_tech_bristol_uni/?page=1 e http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/08/13/full_duplex_radio_tech_bristol_uni/?page=2 relata-nos uma experiência de um assistente da Universidade de Bristol, Leon Laughlin, que demonstrou como reduzir em 50 dB a interferência a partir de transmissão. Apenas isto...

E esclarece: "o nosso protótipo usa um sistema de isolamento elétrico que requer apenas uma antena e pode ser implementado num chip... “.

Contudo, afirma “... alcançar full duplex num sistema celular só é possível (hoje) em microcélulas ...", acrescentou. "Isto porque para conseguir o ganho de rendimento a partir de qualquer full duplex  é necessário suprimir a interferência a um nível aceitavelmente baixo, e este nível depende da diferença entre a transmissão e recepção de sinal e potências."

Laughlin conclui, "... full duplex é provável que seja uma tecnologia que servirá para aumentar as taxas de capacidade de transmissão de dados em alta densidade em pequenas áreas de células da rede, e não é susceptível de ser utilizado para acesso sem fio em macrocells ".

Outra coisa é ligar 2 rádios a 1 só antena que, à beira disto, é um “problema técnico� que tem solução há cerca de 200 anos (Lei de Ohm).

Full duplex! Bristol boffins demo Tx and Rx on the same frequency - at the same time

 

Transmitting and receiving on the same radio frequency, at the same time, has been demonstrated by the UK's University of Bristol in a new YouTube video.

 

The system being used is running 900MHz and 1800MHz with exactly the same equipment.

 

There are a number of companies working on this technology, called full duplex radio, a technology traditionally viewed as being extremely difficult to implement – if not impossible.

 

However, what has now seemingly made it possible are improvements in processing, which allows the noise of the transmitted signal to be subtracted from the received signal.

 

One of the first patents on full duplex was filed by UK-based electronics, defence and telecoms company Plessey in 1980, for a combat radio repeater using the tech. This was called "Groundsat" and was used by the British Army. There was also a patent filed by Bristol University in the 1990s.
