World Radiosport Team Competition in the press
The Standard-Times newspaper reports on the 'world's biggest amateur radio
event' the World Radiosport Team Competition (WRTC)
The event is held every four years, host cities in the past include San
Francisco, Rio De Janeiro and Moscow. This July it is coming to Boston, or
rather 16 Southeastern Massachusetts towns including Freetown, Dighton,
Taunton, Berkley, Carver and Plymouth.
59 teams of two radio amateurs, all of them champions in their home
countries, will spend a complete 24-hour cycle making nonstop contacts with
amateurs around the world.
Radio clubs from around Massachusetts are expected to turn up to volunteer
with the huge technical task of setting up and troubleshooting all that
equipment.
