The ILLW is tracking ahead of time
Registrations in the International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend in
August are ahead of this time last year, with 270 received so far from 33
countries, and committed to this premier fun-event.
They come from Africa, Asia, Europe, Southeast Asia, Australasia, and the
America's. The event raises awareness of historic navigation structures and
promotes Amateur Radio.
Among the first time activations are; Carl M6HPL of bicycle-mobile fame at
Hartlepool Lighthouse, the Newport County Radio Club W1SYE the Dutch Island
Light, Hans DK6EA and Heike DC2CT at Spain's Faro de Cabo de Silleiro
lighthouse, and Peter VK3ZPF the Griffith Island Lighthouse.
