Magnificent M-class Eruption on Aug. 24th

A visually beautiful solar flare erupted from the east limb of the sun
today.

Extreme UV radiation briefly ionized the upper layers of Earth's
atmosphere; otherwise, our planet was not in the line of fire.

The responsible sunspot will turn toward Earth in the days ahead, boosting
chances for geoeffective solar activity as the week unfolds.
