Morse Code Virtual Radio

How to program your Raspberry Pi to send, receive and decode Morse for
the WWI Centenary

World War 1 started 100 years ago this year. At that time Morse code
was the main means of communication over long distances.

The Raspberry Pi Foundation say they expect lots of schools will be
taking part in events to mark the centenary, and in the spirit of
commemoration they have put together an educational resource called
the Morse Code Virtual Radio. This allows you to simulate and
experience the main form of radio communication that was used back
then, using your Raspberry Pi. If you have an ancestor who was an
ex-telegraph operator or served in the war, you may have an old Morse
Code key in your attic which you could use.

David Honess @dave_spice has made the Pi code available on GitHub at
