Radio Hams help with severe weather

The Cherokee Ledger reports that ham radio operators help officials
with severe weather situations

Severe weather can hit at any moment - a sunny day can quickly turn
into a hair-raising nightmare as an afternoon storm rolls in, just as
easily as a chilly winter day can end with frozen streets.

No matter the weather, Cherokee County Amateur Radio Emergency
Service, which is a volunteer-based communication group, will be on
hand to provide early warning storm spotter reports through ham radio.
