Salon lights jam 4G cell site

The US communications regulator the FCC believes in taking action
against incidental radiators such as lights that cause harmful radio
interference

Comm Law Blog reports that lights in the Perfect Cuts Salon in San
Antonio, Texas run by Ronald Bethany have been emitting a radio signal
on 705 MHz used by AT&T for 4G services.

AT&T contacted the FCC about the interference and the FCC have now
issued a Citation and Order - Incidental Radiator Causing Harmful
Interference - which says:

If, after receipt of this Citation Mr. Bethany again violates Section
15.5(b) of the Rules by engaging in conduct of the type described
herein, the Commission may impose monetary forfeitures not to exceed
$16,000 for each such violation or each day of a continuing violation,
and up to $112,500 for any single act or failure to act.

For instance, the Commission could impose separate forfeitures for
each day on which his incidental radiators cause harmful interference.
