Lior Elazary KK6BWA has made available information on his hack of the dual-band Baofeng UV5R handheld.

The Baofeng UV5R is a low cost £35 ($52) 144 and 430 MHz FM 5 watt handheld rig. The low price makes it ideal for experimentation.
