Ham radio experiences DIY renaissance

On the Urgent Communications site, ARRL CEO David Sumner K1ZZ reports
that, thanks in part to a do-it-yourself movement, amateur radio is
experiencing a revival.

Radio amateurs have been building radio equipment for more than a
century and were arguably among the first makers and hackers.
Today they build everything from low power transmitters to satellites.
