RE: O apoio solicitado para uma proposta de rádio amador.
Caro Organizador Nacional do JOTA,
Uma iniciativa da Associação de Radioamadores da Noruega, NRRL, me chamou a atenção. A NRRL lançou uma proposta extraordinária para a próxima Reunião de HF da Região 1 da IARU, que acontecerá em Abril próximo.
A NRRL propõe que as associações de radioamadores liberem o fim de semana do JOTA de outras actividades, notadamente competições maiores, e permitam que seus membros possam se concentrar no apoio aos escoteiros.
O objetivo é ampliar as possibilidades de promover, entre os membros do Movimento Escoteiro, o Radioamadorismo como hobby e contribuir para sua formação técnica. Dessa forma, também as Associações de Radioamador poderão se beneficiar com a adesão novos radioamadores, mais jovens. As Associações de Escoteiros também terão novos Radioamadores entre seus jovens e adultos. Essa proposta revive um acordo de cavalheiros feito nos primeiros tempos do JOTA, ou seja, não haver outros grandes eventos de radioamadores no mesmo fim de semana da principal atividade do Radioescotismo mundial. A proposta, em sua íntegra, encontra-se anexada a esta mensagem.
Se esta proposta norueguesa for apoiada na reunião de HF, poderá ser apresentada na próxima Conferência da Região 1, onde pode ser aprovada e também proposta nas Regiões 2 e 3.

O que fazer?
Pedimos que entrem em contato com o representante de HF da sua Associação de Radioamadores. Ele, provavelmente, já recebeu a proposta anexada.
Por favor, incentive-o a pedir que sua Liga de Radioamadores apoie ativamente a proposta norueguesa na próxima reunião.
O encontro é em abril, em Viena. Então, por favor entre em contato com a Associação de Radioamadores dentro das próximas semanas.
Se surgir alguma dúvida sobre a proposta ou quaisquer detalhes, entre em contato com a NRRL ou com a WOSM, por intermédio de Richard Middekoop ? PA3BAR.
Gostaria de receber qualquer informação sobre o posicionamento das Associações de Radioamadores, assim como quaisquer sugestões ou conselhos para o desenvolvimento desse projeto da NRRL.
Esperando melhorar as experiências do JOTA para os Escoteiros e apoiar as Associações de Radioamadores nos seus esforços para conseguir novos e jovens radioamadores para esse hobby técnico, me despeço.

RE: Your support requested for an Amateur-Radio proposal.
Dear National JOTA Organizer,
An initiative from the Norwegian Amateur Radio Association NRRL was brought to my attention. The NRRL launched a remarkable proposal for the upcoming IARU Region 1 HF meeting next April.
NRRL proposes that Amateur Radio Associations free up the JOTA weekend from other activities, notably larger contests, and allow their membership to concentrate on support to the Scouts.
The background is widening the possibilities to introduce young Scouts to amateur radio as a hobby and contribute to their technical education. In that way also the Amateur Radio Associations will benefit with new, younger membership. And the Scout Associations will have radio-educated Scouts and leaders amongst them as well. To a larger extend than what is currently happening. In fact, the proposal revives the gentlemen's agreement made in the very early days of JOTA, i.e. not to have any other large amateur radio events that same weekend. Attached you can read through the complete proposal text.
If this Norwegian proposal is supported at the HF meeting, it will go to the next Region 1 Conference where it can be endorsed and also proposed in the Regions 2 and 3.

This email has been addressed to the NJO?s in Region 1 and for info to some NJO?s in Regions 2 and 3.
What to do?
It would help the NRRL if you could please get in touch with the HF representative of the Amateur Radio Association in your country. He or she has already received the attached proposal.
Please encourage him / her that your National Amateur Radio Association can actively support the Norwegian proposal at the HF meeting.
The meeting is in April in Vienna. So please contact your Amateur Radio Association within the next few weeks.
If any detail questions arise, on the proposal itself you will find a contact email address. Or you can address your questions to me.
I would appreciate to hear from you any feedback you get from your Amateur Radio Association and any further advice you could give to the NRRL.
In the best interest to improve the JOTA experience for the Scouts and support the Amateur Radio Associations in their efforts to attract more youngsters to a technical hobby.
