 End of era for electronics repair

Carteret County News-Times reports that one of the few remaining TV
repair businesses is closing down

Wayne Beasley originally founded Beasley TV Inc on Jan 1, 1957 and
opened Parkway TV in 1970. He sold the business to the current owners
Darlene and Tim Forrest in 1991.

The increasing reliability of TV's coupled with consumer preference
for buying a new TV if the old set went wrong led to a slump in the
repair business. The antenna installation side of the company was hit
by the introduction of cable TV.
