FITSAT-1 5840.0 MHz downlink received

This video by radio amateur Tetsurou Satou JA0CAW shows reception in Japan of the 5840.0 MHz downlink from the FITSAT-1 (aka NIWAKA) CubeSat that was deployed from the ISS on October 4

He used a 38cm dish with a down-converter to an IF of 1284 MHz, a BGA2717 LNA and the AMSAT-UK FUNCube Dongle SDR with HDSDR software.

FITSAT-1 was one of five CubeSats deployed from the International Space Station on October 4, see http://www.uk.amsat.org/?page_id=10967

The FUNcube Dongle (FCD) Software Defined Radio (SDR) was originally developed for educational outreach as part of the ground segment for the FUNcube satellite. A proportion of the sales of the FCD goes to support AMSAT-UK's FUNcube satellite.

* Send a blank email to funcube-subscribe  yahoogroups.co.uk
* Yahoo will send you an email in response, you may need to check your SPAM folder
* Click on the link in the email, this will bring up a Yahoo page in your browser
* On the Yahoo page ignore the big Join link in the middle and click on the link at the bottom of the page instead, it says: "As an alternate option, you may join the mailing list instead."
* You should then be a member of the group.
