Eight band WebSDR back online
The University of Twente eight-band WebSDR, which in 2008 was the very first WebSDR site ever, was reactivated in July after an interruption of 20 months.
The system has been configured for 8 bands each 600 kHz wide.
In future, they intend to install a system with continuous coverage like the experimental system that has been active at the home of PA3FWM.
It is now using a small Mini-Whip antenna. Unfortunately, there seems to be some strong local interference (QRM) on 80m much of the day (although not always). They have not yet found the source.
In contrast to other web-controlled receivers, this receiver can be tuned by multiple users simultaneously, thanks to the use of Software-Defined Radio.
