The Osmocom project is a family of projects regarding Open source mobile
communications. It includes software and tools for a variety of mobile
communication standards, including GSM, DECT, TETRA and others. Choose from
the following project list:

- OsmocomBB - Is an Free Software / Open Source GSM Baseband software
implementation.

- OpenBSC - This is a project aiming to create a Free Software,
(A)GPL-licensed software implementations for the GSM/3GPP protocol stacks
and elements.

- DECT - Osmocom DECT is an Open Source implementation of a DECT network
stack, including drivers for the SC14421/14424 baseband processors. It
supports operation as both the Fixed Termination (aka basestation) as well
as the Portable Termination (aka telephone) side.

- TETRA -This project aims at practical research and experimentation with
the TETRA trunked radio system. It is part of the bigger family of Osmocom
projects, all aiming to create Free Software (Open Source Software) for
mobile communications.

- SIMTRACE - Osmocom SIMtrace is a software and hardware system for
passively tracing SIM-ME communication between the SIM card and the mobile
phone.

- SECURITY - Mobile (in)security. This website is intended to collect
information about publicly-known security issues and other bugs of mobile
communications systems, with a particular focus on the 3GPP-specified
protocol layers of GSM, GPRS, EDGE and WCDMA(UMTS). We collect
informationon issues at any protocol layer and at any of the interfaces,
i.e. the Um air interface just as well as A-bis, A, IuB, C or any of the
SS7/MAP/TCAP based core network interfaces.

- GMR - GEO Mobile Radio. This is the homepage of the Osmocom sub-project
GEO Mobile Radio. It is collecting information and software related to the
ETSI GEO Mobile Radio specification and its practical implementations like
the Thuraya satellite phone network GEO Mobile Radio is a set of
specifications describing a satellite based mobile phone network.

- SDR - OsmoSDR is a 100% Free Software based small form-factor inexpensive
SDR (Software Defined Radio) project. If you are familiar with existing
SDR receivers, then OsmoSDR can be thought of something in between a
FunCubeDongle? (only 96kHz bandwidth) and a USRP (much more expensive). *For
a very cheap (but inaccurate) SDR, you can use the DVB-T USB stick using
the RTL2832U chip, as documented in rtl-sdr*. It consists of a USB-attached
Hardware, associated Firmware as well as gnuradio integration on the PC.
The hardware is currently in prototype stage. As soon as it is finished, we
will make it available through http://shop.sysmocom.de/

- OP25 - is a not-for-profit project to bring together folks that are
interested in implementing APCO P25 using a software-defined radio. Our
goal is to build a software-defined analyzer for APCO P25 signals that is
available under the GNU Public License (GPL).
