Como representante da REP perante a IARU como coordenador das comunicações de emergência, empenhado no JOTA pelo Núcleo Serra da Lua e a pedido do Agrupamento S. Brás, vou estar presente como nosso representante. Assim aqui ficam as últimas noticias recebidas sobre este evento mundial. Hi,
  please find attached the latest communication from Hans Zimmermann
about this years Scout Jamboree on the Air where emergency
communications is a theme. I have had one enquiry from a Scout Group in
the England looking for an emergency communications group to assist with
JOTA, has anyone else had any enquiries?

Dear Regional Coordinators:

I refer to my e-mail of 16JUN11 concerning this year's
Jamboree-on-the-Air (JOTA) on `15 + 16 October 2011 under the motto
"Peace, Environment and Natural Disasters".

Within this year's JOTA, an emergency communications exercise will take
place on Saturday, 15 October in the afternoon (European time zone).
This simulated emergency test will include the Headquarters station,
HB9S, of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM)", which
will be operated by hams from 5 different countries.

WOSM has now published the details for the event on its web site:

with numerous links to related documents of IARU and other sources.

This year's JOTA theme offers an excellent opportunity to raise the
awareness for the role of the Amateur Radio Service in disaster
situations.  I therefore suggest, that you this information to the
respective groups and/or national coordinators in your Region through
your respective regional e-mail reflectors and web sites.
