Baofeng UV-3R MKII Dual-Band Handheld

Rick Blythe VE3CNU has released a video about his new Baofeng UV-3R MKII 2m/70cm 2 watt handheld rig that cost just $31

These tiny rigs give 2 watts output on the 144 MHz and 430 MHz bands and are proving popular with radio amateurs around the world. A number of suppliers can be found on E-Bay, apparently the ebay.com site gives lower prices than the ebay.co.uk site. Prices vary so shop around.

Two weeks ago, a radio amateur in Essex bought a UV-3R MKII from Mega409shop http://stores.ebay.com/mega409shop mentioned in the MK1 review below. It cost £29 including postage and the rig was delivered in just 8 days.

Unlike the one shown on the VE3CNU video and the MK1 review the power supply that was supplied had a moulded UK style plug so didn't need an adapter.
