Russian Federation joins CEPT Radio Amateur License

It should be easier to use Amateur Radio while visiting the Russian Federation following their decision to join the CEPT Radio Amateur License agreement.

At a recent meeting the Russian State Commission for Radio Frequencies decided that the Russian Federation will join CEPT Recommendation T/R 61-01 (CEPT Radio Amateur License) and ECC/REC/(05)06 (CEPT Novice).

The commision plans to advise CEPT Working Group RA accordingly in the near future.

WGRA meetings are scheduled for May and September 2011. IARU Region 1 considers this a a major step forward to achieve worldwide radio amateur roaming.

T/R 61-01 (CEPT Radio Amateur License) corresponds to the USA Extra and UK Advanced/Full license.

ECC/REC/(05)06 (CEPT Novice License) corresponds to the USA General and UK Intermediate license. It is over 5 years since it was introduced but the UK still hasn't joined.

There are also proposals for a CEPT entry license equivalent of USA Tech and UK Foundation

3. In 'Select Group: ' select 'RA2' ('RA Working Group' may also be ofinterest)
4. In 'Select Year: ' select '2011'
5. Expand document folders
7. Tick all the documents you wish to download
8. Click on the 'download Selected' button (top right)
