New digital EME record on 2 metres

Allan, ZS1LS, and Jeremy, W7EME, in Hawaii established a new SARL EME
record on 144 MHz.

The contact took place at 20:20 UTC on 3 August 2011 using the JT65b
mode and covered a distance of 18 383 km.

The contact was established during a small window close to moonset in
South Africa and only 0,7 degrees of moonrise in Hawaii.

Signal reports varied between -26 dB and -31 dB at Allan's QTH. Jeremy
copied Allan at -21 dB on the night before but Allan could not copy
him.

WSJT is a computer program used for weak-signal radio communication
between radio amateurs. The program was initially written by Joe
Taylor, K1JT, but is now open source and is developed by a small team.
The digital signal processing techniques in WSJT make it substantially
easier for radio amateurs to employ esoteric propagation modes, such
as high speed meteor scatter and moon bounce.

Congratulations to Allan and Jeremy.
