Portuguese Navy Day Contest – 2011 

To celebrate the Portuguese Navy Day, the Núcleo de Radioamadores da Armada - NRA feels pleasure to announce the 9th edition of annual Amateur Radio Contest, called "Portuguese Navy Day". 

The Contest is of international nature and it is open to all national and foreign Amateur Stations. 


REGULATIONS 

DATE AND PERIODS
The competition takes place on two separate dates; 
Digitals: 070800 to 072000 May 2011; 

SSB: 211500 to 221500 May 2011; 
CW: 211500 to 221500 May 2011;
All UTC time.
(Digitals cover only PSK and RTTY)

BANDS
In all periods: 10, 15, 20, 40 and 80 meters, within the segments and frequencies recommended by the IARU for competitions.


CATEGORIES 
Only single operator, except the special station CS5NRA that will be multioperator;

EXCHANGE
Naval Club Member:

RS(T) + Club + Membership number and CQ zone (i.e. 599 PN072 14) 

Non Naval Club member: 

RS(T) followed by sequential number beginning with 001 and CQ Zone; (i.e. 59 001 14) using a unique numerical sequence for the whole contest, regardless of operation mode. i.e.

POINTS 
Contacts with or between Sister Societies Naval Club members : 10 points only once; 

Contacts with the same CQ Zone : 

40/80 meters count 2 points; 
10/15/20 meters count 4 points; 
Contacts with different CQ Zone : 

40/80 meters count 6 points; 
10/15/20 meters count 8 points; 
Contacts with stations that do not send log worth only one point;

MULTIPLIERS

Each prefix worked count as a multiplier only once per band and mode; 
Any station can be contacted once per band and mode every 60 minutes; 
Multipliers are valid only if both stations contact the special station CS5NRA; 
Each multiplier counts one point; 
FINAL SCORE 

Sum of points multiplied by sum of multipliers. 

  

TROPHIES, AWARDS AND CERTIFICATES 

Trophies and Awards will be present to first three winners of each mode - CW, SSB and Digitals (PSK/RTTY). 
In case of same station win SSB or CW and Digitals, then Trophies are cumulative; 
The competitor will be entitled to Trophy/Award only if he/she makes at least 50 contacts on CW and SSB, with at least one of them with the special station CS5NRA; 
In Digital Modes (PSK/RTTY) 25 contacts will be enough but at least one of them has to be with the special station CS5NRA. 
Will be entitled to a Certificate of Participation all stations having not qualified for Trophy/Award but have made at least a minimum of 10 contacts including one with special station CS5NRA, and have submitted the LOG; 
Certificates will be in PDF format, sent via e-mail to the contester in accordance with this Contest Regulation. 
In all modes, to see his/her Log validated the contester must have at least one contact with the special station CS5NRA. 
TROPHYS CEREMONY
Will take place at a time and place to be informed later at http://www.nra.pt and via E-Mail to competitors, providing their email addresses;

Logs are to be sent to contest  nra.pt until 20 days after contest finish, with attached file format (TXT), Cabrillo (CBR) or Excel (XLS) and the file name corresponding to the Contester Call Sign Station; 
(i.e. CT1AAA.txt, CT1AAA.cbr or CT1AAA.xls). Also include the postal address for sending the Trophy, or Award.

DOWNGRADING
Any participating station can be disqualified if there is a breach of Regulations or unsportsmanlike conduct.
Clarifications can be obtained via e-mail to nra  nra.pt or direct from our official website at www.nra.pt 
Logs are to be received by: 22 nd June 2011 

FINALS
By participating in the contest, the amateur unconditionally accepts the present Rules in all its fullness, and omissions or ambiguity which, are subject of direct resolution by the Contest Organization Team, whose decisions are final and irrevocable. 

The Organization reserves to itself the right not to award the mode(s) in which the numbers of participants were less than five. If it were the case only be attributed an Award to first place of each Mode. 

Trophies, Awards and Certificates not collected in a ceremony for the effect to be made, will then be mailed to the addresses given at the time of dispatch of Log.
