ARLA/CLUSTER: Quando os Porcos Voam "When Pig's Fly" Special Event Stations

Não confundir com PIIGS económicos, que é um acrónimo pejorativo originalmente usado na imprensa de língua inglesa, sobretudo britânica, para designar o conjunto das economias de Portugal, Irlanda, Itália, Grécia e Espanha (Spain em inglês). Em inglês a contracção o acrónimo significa " porcos ", animais por vezes usado em caricaturas para ilustrar a má performance económica dos 4 países. 
Actualmente Portugal já está nos "STUPID" que é a nova sigla que circula nos mercados para referir os países que podem ser afectados por um efeito dominó em caso de falência da Grécia e que são: Espanha, Turquia, U.K. - Reino Unido (imaginem), Portugal, Itália e Dubai.

When Pig's Fly Special Event Stations

This 'on the air event' will be another joint venture operation hosted by Sister-Clubs, the BEARONS (Boeing Employees Amateur Radio North Society) and the SCARC Stanwood Camano Amateur Radio Club. The Clubs will host the first-ever 'When Pigs Fly' Special Event Station.

These Special Event Stations will highlight each club’s unique callsign, W7PIG for SCARC and W7FLY for the Bearons. 

The Special Event will be held on the HF Bands and our purpose will be to gain notoriety for both Clubs' unusual callsign, and promote comradery and old fashion “Ham Radio Fun” for the event operators and calling stations.

Event Date: Saturday - April 16th, 2011
Operating Times: 1600z to 0000z
The W7PIG Station will operate from Camano Island, Washington, USA and the W7FLY Station will operate from Bothell, Washington, USA.

Amateur Radio Stations, who work only one of the two Special Event Stations, will receive the respective Club's regular QSL Card.

Amateur Radio Stations, who work both W7PIG and W7FLY, will receive the Special Commemorative QSL Card, which portrays Flying Pigs, species “Sus Essex Aviatrix” waiting for take off from Boeing Field, and was painted by Award Winning and World Famous, Camano Island Artist - Jack Gunter!

Look for either Stations, in the 20m General Sub-band ! and/or Frequencies: 21.250, 21.260, 7.230, 7.240

W7FLY and W7PIG will be on the air simultaneously but not necessarily always on the same band.
