The World Space Week (Semana Mundial do Espaço) é uma celebração internacional da contribuição da ciência e tecnologia espacial para o melhoramento da condição humana. Foi oficialmente declarada pelas Nações Unidas como sendo, anualmente, a semana que decorre de 4 a 10 de Outubro.

Durante a Semana Mundial do Espaço, ocorrem em todo o mundo múltiplos eventos e programas educacionais relacionados com o Espaço. A AMRAD tem promovido acções educativas e participado em todos estes eventos. Várias actividades já estão a ser preparadas pela AMRAD em parceria com outros organismos nacionais.

A Semana Mundial do Espaço está aberta à participação de todos. É comemorada por agências governamentais, companhias, organizações sem fins lucrativos, professores e indivíduos.

Event Description


A field day for listening radio signals from space, and try to communicate with other students and schools, via satellite amateur radio service. On special day for educational event on space flight, development and exploration of satellites, with speakers and hands-on to try build one experimental radio beacon like the «sputnik» or «vanguard» satellites. The event lasts from 09:00 AM to 12:30 PM inside the Centro Espacial Português, the radio tracking centre of satellites on the technological university of Lisbon at IST-Taguspark in Porto Salvo, Oeiras, near Lisbon.
