VHF/UHF/Microwave DXpedition to Norfolk Island

A team of experienced VK amateurs is heading to Norfolk Island (OC-005 RG30XX) to operate as VK9NA from the 3rd to the 14th of January on bands from 6 metres to 10GHz.

Members of the VK uWave Group, Alan VK3XPD, Kevin VK4UH and Michael VK3KH have advanced plans including taking a 1.2 metre dish for all bands from 1296 MHz through to 10 GHz.

Strong positive reactions to their announcement includes VK5 and VK3 operators organising to travel to Port Macquarie on the New South Wales coast, with full Microwave gear, to take advantage of the opportunity.

Also a number of ZL operators have indicated their interest in setting up at favourable locations on the NZ North Island.

The VK uWave Group group will have internet access and are to use the VKlogger (www.vklogger.com<http://www.vklogger.com/>) as the main method of liasion.

Operation will be SSB, CW and where possible Digital modes for Meteor Scatter and Tropo paths.

The 6-metre band will be part of the operation hoping to take advantage of the main Sporadic E propagation season.
