PMR Digital Voice
The PMR industry is pressing ahead with VHF and UHF systems providing Digital Voice in 6.25 kHz channel spacing using the NXDN(tm) standard.
The digital standard being adopted by the industry for Digital Voice seems to be NXDN(tm) Digital Modulation with a number of key manufacturers already supplying products.
NXDN(tm) is understood to be a trademark of Icom Incorporated and Kenwood Corporation.
6.25 kHz NXDN(tm) uses FDMA 4-level FSK modulation using the AMBE+2 voice codec and supports both voice and data.
