Caro Colega Paulo Mendes(CT2HQT),
"Desculpe a minha opinião mas D-Star com placa e PC perde o sentido de se chamar "Radioamadorismo".

Obviamente que cada um tem direito á sua opinião, exprimi-la e achar o que é o "Radioamadorismo" no Século XXI, agora de uma coisa eu tenho a certeza, daqui a menos de 10 anos e pelo rumo dos acontecimentos, não acredito que alguém vá discutir o uso do PC na comunicação e no radioamadorismo com o recurso á Internet.

Caminhamos para aquilo a que alguns teóricos chamam a unificação das redes sociais, e o radioamadorismo, tal como o entendo hoje, faz parte integrante da rede social, de lazer mais ou menos técnica e/ou cientifica. Dispomos desde á muito tempo de interfaces permanente entre a nossa Intranet e a Internet.

Os radioamadores foram os primeiros percursores das redes sociais de dados, á quem defenda mesmo que a Internet se desenvolveu efectivamente no Mundo da rádio, estamos todos recordados do Protocolo (X.25, neste caso, AX.25). Assim, a Internet faz parte integrante á muito tempo do mundo dos Amadores de Radio e queira-se ou não a interligação vai ser mais e mais permanente, isto é, se já não se fundiu.

Desculpe a minha opinião mas D-Star com placa e PC perde o sentido de se chamar "Radioamadorismo".
Com esse sistema deixamos de usar um radio para exercer a comunicação... mas para quem não tiver um Repetidor de D-Star na sua região é uma forma de comunicar com a rede.
Eu não explorei isso mas se calhar até dá para fazer o mesmo que o echolink com um radio analogico ligado ao pc...

        D-Star DV-Dongle Ham Radio Install Instructions.

        Are you a licensed Amateur Radio Operator and are you away from your DSTAR radio? Then watch this simple demo of the DVDONGLE. This device allows you to communicate on DSTAR gateways around the world with the use of a computer and broadband connection.

        Step one: installed the latest java script version, that is needed for the DV Tool

        Next , go to the DV Dongle website and download the free DV TOOL:

        Unpackage the file to a folder on your desktop.

        You cannot run DVTool.jar directly and have your DV Dongle work.

        First, plug in the DV Dongle and then open DVTool.sh.

        Once it starts, you should see something along the lines of dev/tty/usb0 or something similar in the drop down box. If not, you may have a problem with your USB ports.

        Click on open next to that drop down box to access the DV Dongle.

        The second section should un-grey and you should be able to click on the "Connect to Gateway" button and have a selection of different Dstar Nodes pop up in the drop down box.

        Thats it, you're up and running!

        If you are already registered on the international D-Star gateway network, you are ready to go.

        If not, please contact your local D-Star repeater manager for registration.

        If you don't know where your closest D-Star repeater system is located, use a web browser and go to http://www.dstarusers.org/repeaters.php for repeater locations.
