For those of you who are a bit depressed at the present state of the HF bands, we have received these words of encouragement from Lee M0HOK:

Hi, for anyone fed up with the poor state of the HF bands at the moment, I would urge you to give the digital modes a try.

Today I managed to work Australia!  I worked VK3AMA in Melbourne using just 30 watts and a half size G5RV at 20 feet high !

It was a real buzz because it was my first contact with VK land and in my favourite mode too.
