Contrary to what you've suggested, "AOE" is not "nostalgia", it is an ITU
country code applied to W.Sahara, even if actually meaning "Africa
Occidental Española", regardless of the latter's statutory condition.
A similar situation existed for years thanks to several countries: Portugal,
Indonesia and the USA: Timor.
ITU's code was, and still is, "TMP", which stands for "Timor Português.
